So I have picked up this years posters for the C4 Winnipeg   at  The RBC  Convention Center . I have been posting in my region of Steinbach Mb and Belmont Mb and some will be in Killarney Mb by tomorrow .

Personally I will be waiting for the Q&A with William Shatner on Friday Oct 28th at 5:30PM in the Theatre and also Debi Derryberry  Saturday 29th at 11:00AM,  then finally                John Rhys-Davies  at Sunday the 30th at 12:00PM

For thebackyardgeeks.com this will be our (as a family ) the 15th Winnipeg show we will be attending . As per the previous years I will be doing some Volunteering  at the show the rest of my time will be shopping and Interfacing  and Interacting with the many attendee’s at the show.  It is for me a time to meet up with many people I have met over the years, some of them coming in from as far away as England to attend the show.  one year we met a couple that have factored in – in their vacation time to attend they were from Australia .

So this show has been seen and Attended by people “FANS” from three points around this great world, If only they would have a registry for the Visitors from around the World  that would be most interesting to see the far reach the leadership of C4 has touched the planet .

The past few days I have been working too hard for my condition. And you see my problem is , is that I cannot say no to people who ask for help earnestly, I have been doing a lot of this . Shit to be honest I have done this all my life it is My upbringing from my Father (rest his soul) People ask Its just some little things I need done. Well these little things add up, and for me that means minus Mitochondria. and for you see Mitochondria are the little batteries that give your muscle’s energy. but alas I have loss the ability to repair and store these helpful muscle molecules thus the term of what I suffer from Mitochondrial Myopathy. Now I am not singling out one specific person although I really am. This is what puts ME in into the hospital and I really hate being there the beds are the most uncomfortable thing ever.
For you see I spend my year with hopes to volunteer and help a friend and his family with their dream C4 – Central Canada Comic Con. Now If I can Help My Friend and Their Family as I have been for over 10 years I Believe that you can Too

ps. I hope Ms/Mrs/Mis Caine is not upset that I am forwarding Her article if so send me a note.

C4 Con, C4 Winnipeg, Central Canada Comic Con

So this year at C4Winnipeg We once again as a Family did our version of going to DisneyLand . Only we had just as much fun at a way lower budget. Being that I have been a volunteer at this event for several year , this was my first year as a PART TIME/ Volunteer and a Part Time Super Freeking Geek. thus the name thebackyardgeeks.com .  Over the years of being a Volunteer I have been privy to Meeting a lot of Celebrities . Let me be perfectly clear ( not to quote a so called Leader) but having talked with the Actor’s and Actress’ over the years, I have meet them on a normal level.

I will never give out the contents of our conversations as they were in either the Green Room or during a moment of when they just wanted to be themselves’. Like I have said to many of them ( Celebrities )  I do not envy their Fame. yes I would like to be a Actor but all the lack of privacy they go through is not worth it sometimes.

Reading some of the ” Stars” tweets and seeing what they have to put out there for our gain and little hit of Adrenaline/Endorphin rush we get is not worth their lack of being Normal some of them wish for. I always ask myself when I see a Celebrity in or at a restaurant/store do they want to be disturbed for a Photo op that only you will remember?.

Now don’t get me wrong a lot of my friends are trying to get to the level of Fame that 90% of  even “D” list people are at . But why is not anamininity not worth the Sanity( wisdom and Prudence ) of being real, A teacher is proud that their students recognize them in public that means that they”The Teacher ” is having a meaning full impact on said Students life.

Then this morning i read a post from AP Fuchs regarding how he was in awe of meeting all his Peer’s / Celebrities.  just know this first hand is really funny, There are a few stories of how the Famous also get giddy when they meet their Idols.  Myself i have witnessed this several times while relaxing in the VIP lounge and having been misconstrued as a Artist many times is quite funny to me, but to see a Famous person get all and to Quote” Nerdy/Starstruck ” is just incredible.

So this year 2015 we the family gathered to pose with Sylvester McCoy of Dr Who and the Hobbit series . He was pleasant and kind both with the little time in the autograph session and the photo op, But alas He was just as nice in person in the Green room.

The same goes for Actress Gates McFadden she was also very charming and pleasant. McFadden C4 2015and down to earth with the way she was around us the support staff, It was like she was a Family member , whe would not let us do iour job because she was more then willing to do it herself like she didn’t want to Impose on us. Hmmm this was different and nice. also I saw this in other members of the Star Trek Cast

So without further boring rants here are this years Photo ops one o which will become our new background photo I hope!Sylvester McCoy C4 201520151118

C4 Con, C4Winnipeg, Central Canada Comic Con, Cre8ive Supplies

Central Canada Comic Con. C4. Comic Con. Comic book Convention.

I had a BLAST this weekend at C4. While I didn’t sell any prints (I’m too new at selling my own art sadly!), I did had a great time helping Cre8ive Supplies promote their store and sell their stock. I love, love, love their store – so it was an honour to just be able to help them out during the weekend, and be able to be their “offical” demonstration artist of the weekend.

Hell, thanks to them and C4, I was able to test out and now own a Copic Airbrush system, as well as learn new tactics, skills, and spark new ways of creating art – all during a three day period, eating behind a table, and just blahhering on to people about everything art related.

I not only got art supplies this weekend – I also got six, fairly large Pokemon plushies, a new glowly keyboard + mouse, and….Well, memories for a long, long, looonnngg time. <3

C4 – Central Canada Comic Con, Cre8ive Supplies…

The two best things that happened to me this year, and I’m bloody thankful for it.
