As an avid webcomic reader, I’ve have a nice collection of comics bookmarked to catch up on – and a lot more merch to support the creators for. While I have a ton that I love reading (and rereading) to recommend, today I’ve decided to showcase my three current favourites.

Happy New Year
to every one It is not like I’Am going to miss 2016 but hey it was a lousy year for Me also. missed my first C4Winnipeg 2016 ever due to health circumstance’s . So i hope you all have a better year in 2017

This year has been a shatty year for us all, but just keep yo heads up. 2017 can only be a great year if we all put the effort into it!
Also, it was a sorta good year for me – made 12 dollars on stickers this year C4, so it was cool.

During the last weekend of October, the 28th to 30th, the Backyard Geeks are hitting up Central Canada Comic Con for our yearly geek outing. Jesslyn ‘Marly’ Buote, the youngest Geek, is going to be with Cre8ive Supplies demonstrating art supplies and selling their prints. Perry ‘Elder Geek’ Buote is going to be roaming around the convention along with Adam ‘Gonzo’ Buote.
Perry should be able to reach fairly easily, along with Marly, but if you were thinking of speaking to the infamous Gonzo…Luck shan’t be in your side.
Make sure to meet the Geeks!

Central Canada Comic Con. C4. Comic Con. Comic book Convention.
I had a BLAST this weekend at C4. While I didn’t sell any prints (I’m too new at selling my own art sadly!), I did had a great time helping Cre8ive Supplies promote their store and sell their stock. I love, love, love their store – so it was an honour to just be able to help them out during the weekend, and be able to be their “offical” demonstration artist of the weekend.
Hell, thanks to them and C4, I was able to test out and now own a Copic Airbrush system, as well as learn new tactics, skills, and spark new ways of creating art – all during a three day period, eating behind a table, and just blahhering on to people about everything art related.
I not only got art supplies this weekend – I also got six, fairly large Pokemon plushies, a new glowly keyboard + mouse, and….Well, memories for a long, long, looonnngg time. <3
C4 – Central Canada Comic Con, Cre8ive Supplies…
The two best things that happened to me this year, and I’m bloody thankful for it.

Heyo!
If you know me, you know that I love web comics. From the simple, single strip series to a long running series… I just really, really love web comics! They’re a great source of inspiration, ideas, and a source of budding, new, and wonderful artists of all styles, skill sets, and ideologies.
For this ‘series’ of recommendations, I’m going to list three web comics that I’m currently reading and enjoying.
Just a note: I’m going to be using artists who have multiple comics in progress. Expect a lot of repeats!

We all know what caricatures are; lovely renditions of a person’s face with some exaggerations to key features, often are insulting or flattering, and are amazing to look look at…?
Then you partly know what Kirkatures are. Kirkatures are based around caricatures, but they’re done by the wonderful local artist Adam Kirk. His Kirkatures (yes, I’m going to be calling them by that name now for this post!) are wonderful drawn and appealing to look at; in fact, I had one done for myself –
– it’s one of the best things I’ve spent twenty dollars on, which for normal, everyday, non-Kirkatures caricatures…It’s a good price in my humble opinion. For events, he only charges 100 dollars – which is, again, a really wonderful price for an artist (in my opinion, he could so much better for his skill!).
Along with this wonderful Kirkatures, he also help work on an online comic series called “The Adventures of Spandex Panda“, a series about a Panda who lives a life of free style and bicycling – his main source of transpiration, leaving his home; the Bamboo Forest.

Interested in a Magical Girl comic series? Loving the idea of science, alchemy, and ancient magic all mixing together? Mythic creatures, spirits of rings, magicians and even adorable familiars?
Also, does an interesting story style, a unique anime-esque design and a little – say – romance?
Well, how about you read The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by one and only Bwillett? You know, the creator of the one and only Cardcaptor Torika – a CardCaptor Sakura fan comic? Or even known for her work as the creator of Midnight Menagerie, a horror series of a young boy named Shawn Wilcocks?
You might be wondering, what is The Sorcerer’s Apprentice all about? What you gave us isn’t selling us yet – what could else could we know?
Well, its about a young, seventeen year old girl named Victoria Evans. Who is, in all honestly, not as normal as she may seem to be. While being in love with creating her own clothing as an artistic out light, she’s also into history. And while her best friends are the head of the Drama Club and the only female on an all male wrestling team…She never quite expect for her whole world to be turn upside down after a school trip to the museum.
Upon finding a seemingly ordinary ring and accidentally putting it on, she unleashed a world of traumatic changes and unexpected surprises. Inside the ring resided Allister – a soul who locked himself inside of the ring to seal up the horrors of the world. With his knowledge and expertise of all things magic, he and Victoria must destroy what has been unleashed onto the world…
What else happens? Well, you just need to read the comic online all the way from chapter one.
Bwillet, herself, while being a terrific author and artist alike, has a little predicament in her life currently. I wont get into details, since its not my place to say, but I do recommend giving her commission listing a check and perhaps even ordering her books online when you get a chance.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, along with Midnight Menagerie are two wonderful series made by a wonderful creator, and I can not stress enough of how much it’ll mean to both her and I if you give her some traffic. Besides, you might just find something you’ll enjoy on her site.

While I’ve been adamantly trying to move my sights and not see anything that could be remotely placed in the “spoiler” bucket, what I’ve seen of the new Sailor Moon anime that’s been in the works is…Mixed. While I worry about how far they’re willing to go with this reboot, that’s not what makes me so…Off about this. What makes me feel off is the art style.
Oh wow, the artist of the family is gonna talk about the art oooooohhhh noooo!
But hear me out.
While I’m happy that Sailor Moon herself is shorter than the rest (she is supposed to be 4’11”!), I’m mostly confused over how different each Sailor Scout looks like. As if it was drawn by different people trying to mimic the same style. Neptune’s fuku looks off to me – she’s missing the shoulder like pads that the Sailor Scouts are commonly drawn with. Aren’t the suits suppose to be like…Space suits?
One thing that also seems to bother me so far is how different Sailor Moon is form the others. Oh, I know how many times her outfit gets throughout the original series. From longer skirts to bonus colours, Sailor Moon changes due to her power ups and abilities.
But she’s look too special. Too unique I would say.
…Honestly, I’m really excited about this reboot.
I just don’t know how I feel about the art style.
